Our first hike to Slabsides was a huge success! The weather was beautiful for our 3.3-mile trek and the autumn scenery was stunning. Some highlights were the crunchy fall leaves that covered the trails, the giant moss-covered slabs of stone we scrambled, and the picture-perfect lake that reflected the sky like a mirror. A few salamanders scurried by our boots, which we considered good luck, but the MVP of the hike was Pepper, Mr. Fitz's enthusiastic puppy who fearlessly scaled the slabs multiple times before any of us reached the top!
