Class Overview
In fifth-grade, students have a 2 periods for both Math and Language Arts. As a Howland Intermediate School Student, students are expected to come to school ready to learn. Students are expected to visit their lockers between classes and arrive to class on time with their materials. Fifth-graders are encouraged to color code their supplies to help them find things when visiting their locker. In Language Arts; we will use purple and yellow to color code our supplies. As always, students need to bring a pencil to class. Google Classroom is a valuable resource for students and families to locate essential classroom material.

Class Conduct:
As a 5th grader, here at HIS you should know what type of behavior is expected. For this reason, I have one classroom rule: Respect. Respect for yourself, your classmates, your school and the educational process. If you keep respect in mind as you make decisions during your school day you will have no problems in my class.
With respect for the education process, you should come prepared to class, ready to learn. All class materials should be brought to class every day, and you should arrive on time. For a more detailed explanation of rules and expectations here at the Howland Intermediate School see the student handbook.
Classroom Discipline:
First Offense = verbal warning
Second Offense = teacher/student conference with lose of privileges'
Third Offense = Detention
* These steps may be skipped at teacher discretion
