Types of Assessments:
Students, you will primarily earn your average grade from tests, quizzes, homework completion, and participation as described below.
Tests:
We will always announce tests ahead of time, and they usually take place at the end of each chapter.
Tests are worth more points than quizzes and will cover a significant amount of content.
Tests may either be delivered via Google Classroom or pencil/paper
Quizzes:
We will usually announce quizzes ahead of time but not always.
Quizzes will vary in point value, but each is important to your final grade.
Students will have a Math bellwork quiz every Friday. This will coincide with the bellwork given Monday-Thursday.
Students will practice their math facts. There will be a timed facts quiz every week that will be taken for a grade. We will begin with multiplication.
Homework:
Science and Social Studies written homework may be assigned periodically, but students should be studying their vocabulary nightly to prepare for quizzes/tests.
English Language Arts homework includes reading for at least 15 minutes nightly
Math homework will be given Monday - Thursday. Homework that is not completed during class time, will be sent home to be completed for the following day. Homework completion points will be included in your overall math grade.
