Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. All assignments will be posted on Google Classroom.
This semester students will be using www.code.org to study and learn how to create their own website using HTML and CSS. We will also be creating our own original video games using JavaScript. These programming languages will introduce students to programming and writing computer code. Even if students choose not to pursue further coursework or a career in coding, they will learn and improve their problem solving skills as well as logic and sequencing. In addition to the coding, students will also be working to improve their keyboarding skills using www.typing.com.
This year will be a challenge for us all, but if we maintain a positive attitude, and work together, we can make it a success.

Please sign up for Google Classroom notifications. This service allows you to receive e-mail notifications of all assignments given in every class that utilizes Google Classroom. You can select the frequency and detail of the e-mail, and can opt out at any time if you choose. This is a great additional feature of Google Classroom. If you are interested, click on the link below and send the completed form to me or email me at eric.olsen@howlandschools.org with the details that are requested on the form.
