Each year at Southwest, our student council come up with a large project they want to accomplish to make Southwest better. For example, two years ago our Southwest Student Council planned, built, and take care of our Southwest Garden.

We will update this page once our St. Co. for this year have decided their project for the year and how they plan on fundraising for the project.

2019-2020 Projects

At out meeting on November 15th, students worked together and pulled their ideas from other classrooms to vote and decide on our projects for the year. With some extra funding from last year, we have decided to take on 3 projects! This is going to take a lot of hard work, dedication, and research, but I know they will get it done.

Out next two meetings students will be placed into 3 groups; one per project, and complete research. What do we need? What steps do we need to take? What items do we need? Is there paperwork to fill out or a presentation that needs to be given?

After our research we will put together a finalized list of what needs to be done and get to work! Students will then be fundraising and making steps to accomplishing our goals for student council and Southwest!

Goal 1: Update the Gazebo near our playground! Make it a place to read, study, maybe even an outdoor classroom, and bring it back to life!

Goal 2: Become a Green School! Figure out what we need to do to start to process of taking better care of our Earth.

Goal 3: Create a safe, fun playground specific to our BK and Kindergarten students. A place where they can use their imagination and play with equipment that is meant for their age.
