If your Chromebook is not working properly or is broken (for example, has a cracked screen, broken corner, is missing a key or other issues) - Please take it to the Media Center Specialist of your home school for assistance.
All device damage and issues should be reported to the Media Center Specialist within two (2) business days. The insurance company reserves the right to deny claims based on untimely reporting. If a claim is denied for any reason, the family will be held liable for the entire cost of the Chromebook’s repair/replacement.
Howell Schools requires that parents purchase annual insurance to cover accidental damage and theft of student devices (both issued and any loaner device, should they be needed). This policy does not cover the loss of the Chromebook and/or accessories, cosmetic damage, or damages caused by intentional misuse or malicious destruction. Howell Public Schools will assess the Chromebook damage and repair or replace the device if the damage is determined to be accidental and within the protection guidelines. Parents/students may be charged for the full replacement cost of a device that has been lost or damaged due to intentional misuse or abuse.
