Meet our Bulldog Counseling Office Staff
Ms. Kimberly Podany
High School Counselor
podany.kim@howeisd.net | 903.745.4418
I am so excited to be a Bulldog, this is my second year at Howe High School! I have been in education twenty years- the majority of those in the counseling office. Some of my other experience includes being a classroom teacher, serving as coordinator in various roles, such as Testing (AP, ACT, SAT, State Testing), Gifted/Talented, LEP and 504. I graduated with both my undergraduate degree and Counseling Master's from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Educational Leadership Program at East Central University. Yes, I am an Okie but happily learning to be a Texan! I have three grown daughters and one precious new granddaughter.
I believe some of the most necessary ingredients for success in life are grace, gratitude, & grit. I am here to help you with your academic, career, and personal/social needs. Please feel free to contact me anytime!
Dr. Adam Washburn
Dean of Students/Testing

This will be my 3rd year working for Howe ISD and I am happy to finally be serving in the community in which I live. My wife, Lori, and I welcomed our first child, Georgia, at the beginning of 2023 and we are loving every minute of raising our future Howe Bulldog. I attended Texas Tech University for my undergraduate degree and furthered my education at The University of Texas A&M-Commerce and The University of Texas at Arlington. Throughout my time as an educator, I have worn a multitude of hats from being a math teacher, AVID coordinator, department and curriculum lead, to most recently being a Special Education teacher here at Howe High School. I am looking forward to my new role and responsibilities as Dean of Students and cannot wait to see what great opportunities await all of this year at Howe High School.
