OUR JOURNEY TO SCHOLARLY MINDS
Week of August 18, 2024
Dear Parents,
Welcome to 4th grade at ROE, where we’re dedicated to making this your best year ever! Here, we focus on growth, challenge, and creating lifelong positive memories for all our students and families. Your partnership with your child’s teacher is the foundation, but the well-being and success of our students—your children—are always our top priority.
We believe in open, kind, and timely communication. If you ever need clarification or have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your homeroom teacher. We value your feedback as we work together to make everything even better. We also ask for your understanding when things aren't as timely as we’d like, and we promise to reciprocate that understanding when we voice our concerns and seek your guidance.
We’ve had a fabulous first week, filled with academic learning, social-emotional growth, and the building of norms and relationships. It’s been amazing! Keep an eye out for future newsletters, where we’ll share articles to help you stay informed on our journey of nurturing these wonderful kiddos.
With gratitude,
Your 4th Grade Partners in Learning

4th Grade Specials follow a rotating schedule that starts with Day 1 on the first day of school. Students cycle through five days, and if there’s a planned day off, we simply pick up with the next scheduled day when school resumes. However, if there's an unexpected school closure, we skip that day's Special and continue with the next day in the rotation.
On Fridays, instead of Specials, students participate in Electives. For example, if Thursday is Day 4, then Friday will be Electives, and Monday will be Day 5. We also have Science Lab and Library check-out on Fridays. While Library lessons may occur on other days, book check-outs will only happen on Fridays. See below rotation for your homeroom teacher.
