Hey there Lockhart Family!
I am so grateful to continue this opportunity to serve in the 3rd Ward community where my educational journey began! I am a proud Alumni of Texas Southern University, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and my Master's degree in School Counseling. Prior to Lockhart, I served as school counselor in Aldine ISD for ten years, a middle school math teacher for six years, and a 5th grade math teacher for one year. During my Aldine years, I also obtained my Principal’s Certification from Sam Houston State University. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and four kids. I enjoy bowling, golfing, photography, and braiding hair. I am a compassionate counselor whose ultimate goal is to assist in the social, and emotional well-being of all of my Lockhart scholars.

I’m so excited to be your School Counselor. It’s going to be a great year full of new friends, adventures and discoveries. Let’s make this a fun an incredible year! I’m a graduate of Prairie View A&M University. Go Panthers! I enjoy outdoor outings, and spending time with family. Some of my favorite things are reading (Becoming by Michelle Obama), the color sapphire blue, and football. Some of my favorite foods are mac-n-cheese, spinach, strawberries and ice cream. I look forward to building new relationships and strengthening old ones. Let’s make this a fun and incredible year!

Mrs. Emerson has 23 years of experience in the field of education. She started her career as a third-grade teacher in Tennessee and has also served as an instructional coach, teacher specialist, assistant principal, and principal. She currently serves as the proud principal of Lockhart Elementary School.
