What do I need for PE?

• A combination lock to secure your valuables during class time
• A PE uniform (t-shirt and shorts)
• Appropriate shoes

How much do uniforms cost?

• Each part of the uniform costs $10 for a total of $20 for a full uniform.

Can I use my old uniform?

• As long as your old uniform still fits and in good condition, you may continue to wear it.

Why do I need to write my name on it?

• If another teachers need to identify you, we'll have your name on your shirt. Also if you lose your uniform with your name on it, we can return it to you next class.

How long are our PE units?

• Our health unit is 6 weeks long, but all our PE units are 3 weeks long.

What will we learn in Health?

• The Health curriculum is split into 6 units (My self, My body, My relationships, My choices, and My world). Each year we learn a little more in each category.

What PE units will I have?

• We will go through multiple units throughout the year. Some examples are archery, basketball, badminton, bowling, dance, flag football, softball/baseball, soccer, track & field, tennis, volleyball, weight training and more.

How are we graded in PE?

• We follow the Lanier Grading Policy with at least 2 grades per week. Students will receive a daily grade based on participation rubric and if they are in uniform.

Participate in Uniform= 100%

Participate but not in uniform = 75%

Did not fully participate and not in uniform = 50%

Refused to participate and not in uniform = 0%

Can I use my cell phone in class?

• This year we will have some technology in class. Only bring your cell phone if your teacher request you bring it. Otherwise keep your phone in your school locker.
