Class overview
6th grade Spanish is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture. The fundamentals of Spanish pronunciation, grammar, and culture are presented through a balanced development of all four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The importance of communication and cultural awareness is stressed through a wide variety of activities (group/pair work, video, audio recordings, online assignments and readings, etc.). This course is designed for students with little or no knowledge of the Spanish language or culture.
7th grade Spanish expects students to meet the World Language Readiness Standards for Spanish level 1A, by developing the four basic language competencies (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). This course will prepare students to take Spanish 1B in 8th grade allowing them to complete one high school credit.
