Our goal with this summer study is for you to build a working foundation for the events of the world in the period 600bce to 600ce.  AP World History's curriculum begins in the year 1200, but jumping in without any background or context can be REALLY confusing.  We're going to use the first few weeks to build bridges from roughly 600ce-1200ce, but you'll be prepped for awesomeness if you understand the background info for those bridges.  

Additionally, there is a crucial analytical skill that is present in every aspect of AP World History from stimulus-based multiple choice questions, to SAQ and DBQ, that skill is called sourcing.  It's the ability to look at the historical setting/context, audience, point of view, and/or purpose of the creator of that document and explain WHY those things shape their message, word choice, tone, etc.

We want to be super clear, the organizers and resources below are NOT assignments, they will not be collected for a grade.  With summer work the ability to hide your actual understanding behind the google-able answers and AI responses of the internet is far too easy, and we don't want to start off the year that way.  These organizers, resources, and assets are there to help you establish a basis of understanding for both the content and the skill.  Doing them will help you check your own ability to process and use information.  The first week of school we will have a quiz over the foundational content and where you are with the sourcing skill acquisition.  That is the grade, the work you do to get ready for that is up to you :)  Below you will find diverse options so that you can tailor your study to what works best or interests you most.
