Class Overview
I am excited to have you in my class this year! Throughout the year, we will examine the author's craft, analyze the power of language, and develop our literacy skills. We will always be “in” a book that we can and want to read, either independently, in partners/groups, or as a class. At Lanier, we focus on students as individuals in order to create a more authentic learning environment, ultimately leading our students to become self-directed, life-long readers and writers.

Contact Me
The best way to contact me is via email at leslie.kilbourn@houstonisd.org. Please allow at least two school days for a reply and reach out at that time if you haven’t gotten a response. Parent/teacher conferences can be scheduled by request for any issues that cannot be resolved via email, and will include the four core content teachers for our cluster. Reach out to me, the cluster leader, with your concerns, and we can set up a time to meet as a group via Microsoft Teams.
