"You're good enough, you're smart enough, and, doggonit, people like you."
First, thanks for visiting my site. My name is Brett Rawlings and I am the Middle School Counselor for the Houston R-I School District. I am a Missouri native, raised in the small town of Lamar. I graduated from high school in 2008 and then moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri from 2008 to 2012. During my sophomore year in college, I decided that school counseling is the career I would like to pursue.
After completing my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I took 2 years off from school, interned at New Life Ranch in Oklahoma, substitute taught in the Columbia area, and served as Youth Director for The First Christian Church in Centralia, MO. After a couple of years in youth ministry and substitute teaching, my ambitions to become a school counselor were reinforced. I then went to Stephens College where I earned my Master of Education in Counseling, specializing in Professional School Counseling.
