Jeremy and the Rooster were formed in 2019 by Doug Hornyak (lead vocals, bass), Anthony Michellini (lead guitar, background vocals) and Pat Murray (drums, background vocals) as a rock trio “alternative cover band” focused on the grunge and alt rock music of the 90’s. Their coverage of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Weezer and others breathed fresh air into a stagnant scene of classic rock (70’s and 80’s) cover bands. Shortly after they began playing live shows, the pandemic hit.

The band then spent the pandemic building their set list and performing using virtual rehearsals and shows and came out of the other side with more than seven and a half hours of all 90’s rock and grunge classics on their setlist. Once live music returned they quickly built up a strong following playing at venues throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City. With an extensive and still growing setlist they offer variety show after show, always performing a fresh set of grunge and 90’s rock songs.

In 2023, Dave Whitehead (rhythm guitar, background vocals) and Mary McDonough (lead vocals) joined Jeremy and the Rooster allowing the band to refine and expand their coverage of the 90’s greatest artists by including Alanis Morrisette, The Cranberries, Evanescence and other great female artists and filling out their sound with a second guitarist and vocalist.

In 2025 they began recording and performing original songs - releases in early 2026!
