Blog Task Week 11: Making Our Own Music
Create a new backing track for the Finding Dory falling truck scene:
Choose a type of feeling that you are trying to create e.g. suspense, excitement, fear, freedom etc.
Create a piece of music using Sound Nation or SoundTrap or find a piece of music on Youtube.
Using Kapwing (Sign in with Google) - Overlap your chosen music into the video.
When you have completed your new video, upload it to your blog,
This blog post needs to include an explanation about what kind of music you choose and what kind of feeling you were trying to create.
You also need to complete your Learning Story for this Module and add it to your Portfolio (your website).
The Learning Story template for Counting the Beat has been copied into your Hur2 folder in your Google Drive.
Blog Task Week 10: Music Through the Decades
Individually or in groups of no more than 4:
Create a Google Slide presentation called “Music Through the Decades”
Each decade from the 1900s to the 2010s must have a slide (i.e. 12 slides in total)
Each decade’s slide must include details of:
Who were some famous musicians of the time,
What musical genre was popular/new,
A video or audio recording of a song from this decade,
Any songs that were re-released during this decade.
An iconic or fashion image from that decade.
Blog Task Week 9: Famous Musicians
Write a biography about a famous musician. In your biography include:
their name,
their current age or the decade their music was popular
Their music genre
The names of their most famous songs.
How did they become a successful singer?
What is a challenge that they have overcome?
Post your biography on your blog and include photos and a video of them performing their music.
Blog Task Week 8: Invent your own instrument
Design and draw a picture of your own strange and unusual instrument, Add a photo of this drawing to your blog post.
Write about your inspirations (e.g. did you start with a guitar and then add a keyboard?)
Write a description of this instrument:
What instrument family does it belong to?
What is it made from?
How do you play it?
What type of sound does it play?
What type of music will it be used for (e.g: rock, heavy metal, country etc)
Blog post Week 7 (Percussion / STOMP):
Tell us what percussion music is
Tell us what body percussion is
Add a link to at least one youtube video of body percussion performance of your choice
Describe the approach your group took in their performance, including what “instruments” you have used
Include the video of your performance.
Blog post Week 6 (The Violin):
Explain that we have learned in Counting the Beat this week
Write about the different types of violin we discussed today.
Tell your readers what you thought about the Vivaldi concertos you listened to today
Explain 3 glossary words and include at least 1 photo/image
Blog post Week 5 (An Orchestra):
Blog about each family of instruments.
Write the definitions in your own words. You can use the slides to help you.
Include full sentences describing the instruments
Include photos of at least one instrument from each family
Include a video of an orchestra performance that you enjoyed
Blog post Week 4 (The Ukulele):
Explain that we have learned in Counting the Beat this week
Write about the ukuleles that you saw today. Explain 3 glossary words and include at least 1 photo
Extras: list all other glossary words about ukuleles
Blog post Week 3 (The Guitar):
Explain what we are doing in Counting the Beat
Comment about the guitars that you saw today. Explain 3 glossary terms and include at least 1 photo
Extras: list different types of music/genres, extra glossary words
Blog post Week 2 (What is Music):
Create a blog post about what we have learned so far
Include:
our definition of Music
the different types of music we identified
where we find, hear and experience music
Finish with a statement of what you hope to learn about in “Counting the Beat”
