Students will understand how mana | power is complex within a country. They will learn that mana | power can be used against others in both positive and negative ways.
Students will understand how protests can effect change. They will be able to understand perspectives from all sides and identify the changes faced.

Students will be able to identify how Māori gathered, stored and used kai within their settlements. They will identify what was imported with them and how a different climate affected their habbits.
Students will understand how trading impacted economic growth of Māori. They will understand that there are positive and negative outcomes to trading.
Students will understand how matariki is an important time for celebration within the Māori community.
