One way I can enhance student learning in a music classroom is through sharing a score scan and recording of a piece. In an ensemble, I can not only share music for students to listen to but also share a score for students to be able to follow along and be able to visually see what instrument or sections they play with or against.
One way I can transform. student learning is through use of Sightreadingfactory.com. We used to use it a lot in High School band as a way to practice our sightreading. It replaced having to pull out lots of music to practice sightreading. It also allowed us to choose specific things that we needed to work on (different key signatures, time signatures, rhythms, etc). A thing is also improved on from just sightreading pieces, is that it gives the same melody and rhythms to every instrument.
My favorite song is Erykah Badu's Other Side of the Game. This video is from her VH1 performance on Soul Stage. This performance has my absolute favorite version/performance of Other Side of the Game. I love this song so much because of the soulful rhythm and especially this arrangment of it. There is so much going on but it meshes so well together. She has a lots of moments of build and then stops to switch the mood.
