Friendship Games is the largest student-run Pilipinx American event in the nation. What began in 1985 to unite the Pilipinx American community is now attended by over 4,000 - 6,000 college students from over 40 Pilipinx American organizations. Each organization represents their university throughout the West Coast by participating in competitive picnic games, performances, and celebrating S.P.U.F (Spirit, Pride, Unity, and Friendship).
"So I know that they put in so much work during their practices for both roll call and for Friendship Games. And just them (CSUEB PASA) placing, I believe we got third place in one of the games. It was such an amazing like, just such an amazing experience to hear our name get called that we like placed so that was super cool for that... Friendship games you really get to like put in the work and like go against other schools and show off that East Bay, PASA is the best PASA. East Bay all day!"
"One of the most rewarding things I've ever had happen to me as going to Fullerton with my teammates is one of the most exciting, nerve-wracking yet cathartic moments of my life. And I cannot wait for more moments like that in the future for future Friendship Games."
Tri-Force was established in 2001. It is the alliance between two neighboring Bay Area Fil-am Collegiate organizations: The Pilipino American Collegiate Endeavor (PACE) at San Francisco State University and Akbayan Pilipino-American Organization at San Jose State University. Through collaboration, Tri-Force has been able to help each other with spreading the awareness of Pilipinx culture, along with student networking, education on social issues, and creating a community for Pilipinx students in the Bay Area.
The Pilipinx American Student Association is also involved with NCPASA, which is the coalition of Pilipinx/Pilipin@ Collegeiate level organizations from all around Northern California.
NCPASA strives to unite and empower the Pilipinx/Pil-Am collegiate network by promoting cultural awareness, dialogue, leadership development, and political and community action.
