It’s been a magical week at Horbury Bridge Academy, with the snow creating a wonderful winter wonderland for our pupils to enjoy. Forest School has been particularly delightful, as the children worked together to build some marvellous snowmen. We’ve been so impressed with how sensible and caring they’ve been, looking after each other in the slippery conditions.
Class 2 were delighted to welcome a team from the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust this week for a special session linked to their science unit on the human body (which comes later in the year).
The children learned valuable tips about brushing techniques, how often they should visit the dentist and the impact of sugary foods and drinks on their teeth. It was a great opportunity for the pupils to understand the importance of healthy habits in a really engaging way.
Our EYFS pupils have been busily learning their lines for the upcoming Nativity, and their enthusiasm is infectious! They’re doing such a fantastic job and they can’t wait to share their performance with you.
A quick reminder that our Christmas Fair will take place on Wednesday, 6th December, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There will be festive fun for all, so please bring the whole family along to enjoy the stalls, games, and seasonal cheer.
We’re thrilled to share that our Christmas Dinner Day on Monday, 18th December, will feature a very special addition this year. The talented staff of Wakefield Music Service will be performing a Christmas concert for our pupils, showcasing the joy of live music. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our budding musicians to see their teachers in action!
We still have spaces available for instrumental lessons, so if your child would like to learn an instrument, please get in touch with the school office for more information.
Thank you, as always, for your support and involvement in our school community.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mr Tuddenham
