Wellbeing Week 2023

What a brilliant week - I could stop the Newsletter right there! From our reckoning, the pupils have taken part in 18 different activities across 5 days. We've mobilised the HBA train twice for whole-school visits to Coxley and Slaz, and that's not even including the sports days on the previous Thursday and Friday. From kickboxing to yoga, Makaton to rugby, zen gardens to orienteering, hockey to football, wellbeing workshops to dam building, teeth health to crown green bowling, and morning boogies to racing bikes... and, on top of that, each class have become experts in an area of wellbeing which they shared with each other in this afternoon's ‘Celebration of Wellbeing’ assembly. Foundation Stage highlighted the importance of healthy teeth; Class 1 presented all about the importance of exercise; Class 2 promoted the '5 Ways to Wellbeing,' and Class 3's presentation was simply titled 'Paying it Forward - The Power of Kindness.'

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved in organising the events. Everyone from the various clubs and organisations gave their time at no cost to provide great experiences for all our pupils, and, of course, the wonderful HBA staff who have, as always, pulled together to make sure everything ran smoothly - it is all very much appreciated.

While it has been a brilliant week for all involved, wellbeing is far more than one week in the year, so we hope all our pupils will take the experiences they have had and put them into practice as we head towards the summer. In September, we will be launching our Wellbeing Warriors - a pupil leadership group that will take the lead in promoting and supporting the wellbeing of our pupils. First job on their agenda? Planning Wellbeing Week 2024!
