There was an air of the tropics in the academy this week, despite the recent cold snap, as EYFS and Class 1 got to experience a day of exotic animals. Brought in by Lion Learners, the pupils were fascinated by each and every one.  A particular favourite was the Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula, whose colours and fur are simply stunning. The day was superbly captured by pupils who then went on to produce still-life drawings. As you can see, it's hard to tell the difference between the photograph and the work they produced! 

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our half-termly Mass this morning. Despite my blunder with the date, we had a good turn out and the pupils did a fantastic job as always. Of particular note were the prayers read by Class 1 - each one delivered clearly and with great meaning. Our next Mass is on March 10th (definitely!) at 9:30 am and we hope to see you there.

Many thanks to everyone who has bought tickets for this evening's Curry Night and our thanks to the PFA for organising. I have to send my apologies as I am away this weekend for my birthday (closer to 50 than I'd like to be!), but I hope you all have a wonderful time and an equally great weekend, whatever you are up to!
