Living by our Christian Values: Together in Faith, Hope and Love

Friday 16th December 2022

Merry Christmas!

Well, we've made it...and, if you've managed to get to a Christmas performance, I'm sure you'll agree, we've done it in some style too! I love nothing more than to see happy children performing their hearts out. It brings such joy to everyone and the benefits for the pupils' development in so many areas is HUGE! We always say to pupils when we start rehearsing, it may not be always be easy and you have to work hard, but it WILL be worth it...I think we witnessed that it was absolutely worth it with performances of the highest quality.

Not only have we had performances a-plenty, but we have also had our wonderful Christmas Dinner provided by Mrs Lintott and her team; our end-of-term Christingle and, of course, a visit from a very special guest with a big white beard!

While there has been much to celebrate, the end of term is also tinged with sadness as we said farewell to Mrs Callaghan after over 30 of service. The pupils paid her a fitting tribute in her leaving assembly and it was lovely to be able to welcome back Mrs Skinner and Mrs Findlay for the occasion. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I wish Mrs Callaghan and her family all the very best for the future. It has been an absolute pleasure, Beverley, and we will miss you greatly.

As I sign off what has been such an enjoyable and productive term at the academy, I must also say a huge thanks to the entire staff, who have worked tirelessly to provide the very best for all our pupils. It is a privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated team and I am extremely thankful to them all. Thanks to all of you, too, for your continued support - it really does make our job much easier having that support, and knowing how involved and passionate you are about your child's education. Finally, a massive thanks you to our wonderful pupils, who really are a delight to teach - as a famous Danish drinks brand once said (other brands available) if they made pupils...they'd be the ones we have at HBA!

I hope you all have a restful and peaceful Christmas and enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all..

Best wishes

Mr Tuddenham
