And just like that, another half-term passes by! What better way though, than to finish with a royal flourish to celebrate Her Majesty’s Jubilee. The day began with our Jubilee assembly, where we looked back at The Queen’s 70 years on the throne. We also explored the role music has played during her reign. After a scrumptious picnic, the afternoon was packed full of traditional fun and games, and you could barely move for the amount of bunting hung from every branch. Roll-a-penny, cat’s cradle, skipping, hop scotch, hook a duck…and our favourite, pin the jewel on the Queen’s crown! To end the day, we all sang a rousing rendition of The National Anthem and gave three cheers for Her Majesty!
On a personal note, I would just like to thank everyone within the Horbury Bridge community for making me feel so welcome during my first term. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to many more exciting weeks ahead as we enter the busiest half term of all!

Fundraising - Parents and Friends Association
The PFA is busy planning our Summer Family Fun Evening. We are looking forward to holding another Family Fun Evening on Friday 1st July after a long break!! This will be an opportunity for Families to come and enjoy a BBQ, licensed bar and the popular 'Horbury Bridge has Talent'. This is a fantastic social evening as well as raising additional funds for school. As always this takes a lot of organising and help on the evening. The PFA are recruiting members to help - even if this is in a small way, every little helps.
As part of this we will be holding a Grand Raffle and there will be a programme where companies and services can advertise for a small charge. If you know anyone that would like to place an advert of offer a raffle prize, please do get in touch. The email is Fundraising@horburybridgeacademy.co.uk
