Thank you to everyone for supporting Red Nose Day today. The school was a sea of red, with pupils proudly sporting red clothes, wacky noses, and huge smiles. We’re delighted to share that we raised nearly £150 for this brilliant cause – thank you so much for your generous contributions and support. The day was filled with laughter as pupils shared their best (and clean!) Comic Relief jokes throughout school. It was lovely to see the fun, the friendship, and the community spirit that makes Horbury Bridge such a special place.
Joke of the day...Why was the maths book sad? Because it had too many problems!
We’re putting a call out for volunteers! On Wednesday 9th April, between 9am and 3pm, we’ll be holding a working party to help spruce up the church garden. This beautiful, calm space is used by our children during break times as a quiet area – a place to reflect, play board games, chat with friends, or simply enjoy some peace. The garden plays a key role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing, and we’d love your help to get it looking its best ready for the summer term. If you can spare any time on the day, please do come along – even an hour makes a difference!
It’s been an exciting week in PE for Class 2! Pupils have been taking part in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities, with a focus on orienteering. Using maps (yes – actual paper ones!) they’ve been learning how to navigate, problem-solve, and work as a team. In a world where GPS is often just a tap away, it’s been brilliant to see pupils discovering the valuable and often-forgotten skill of map reading. Well done to all involved!
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend
Mr Tuddenham
We’ve recently been contacted by a local business across the road regarding an increasing issue with parking. They’ve let us know that several cars have been using their allocated customer parking spaces during morning drop-off. Unfortunately, this has meant they have been unable to park in their own designated bays, making it difficult for them to open their business on time.
We understand that parking is very limited around school, and we’re extremely grateful to the Cinnamon Lounge, who have kindly agreed that our families can use their car park for drop-off and pick-up times. If you do need to drive, please use the Cinnamon Lounge spaces where possible and avoid parking in the spaces highlighted in orange on the map below. These are privately allocated to neighbouring businesses and must be kept clear.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support in helping us to maintain positive relationships with those around us.
