This week, we had a special event in school as Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Hammond, and our fantastic Wellbeing Warriors hosted the first-ever Take a Break and Bake! Parents from Class 3 joined their children in the kitchen (well, Church!) for a wonderful aftrenoon of baking, chatting, and learning about the importance of well-being.
Not only did families get the chance to whip up some delicious treats together, but our Wellbeing Warriors also delivered a fantastic presentation about mental health and ways we can support each other. They spoke passionately about the small things we can all do to look after ourselves and those around us, and their message really resonated with everyone in the room. It was an inspiring reminder of how important it is to take time for ourselves and for others.
The event was a great success, and we loved seeing so many smiles, hearing so much laughter, and watching families work together to create something special. A huge thank you to everyone who took part. There are more events like this planned, with the next one taking place next term. Keep an eye out for further details!
Yesterday, our Year 5 and Year 6 girls’ football team had an incredible time at the Wakefield Football Centre, showing fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout the tournament. They faced tough competition in the group stage and, despite giving their all in every match, they weren’t able to secure a win. However, their resilience and positivity never wavered, and they went into the fourth-place finals group determined to finish on a high.
In their final group games, the girls put in a brilliant performance, working together to claim a well-deserved victory! This result saw them finish second in their group, a testament to their perseverance and team spirit.
A huge well done to the whole team, and as always, a big thank you to our parents for their support and taxi service!
Class 2 have been working incredibly hard in geography this week, investigating the Mediterranean region and comparing it to the UK. They have been using a range of resources, including maps and climate data, to explore how weather patterns differ and why the Mediterranean enjoys far less rainfall than we do here.
Pupils have also been considering human and physical geography, identifying how the natural landscape and climate shape the way people live. They have examined why the Mediterranean’s warm, dry summers and mild winters make it an attractive place for both residents and tourists, while also discussing the challenges of a climate with much lower rainfall than we experience in Britain.
Through their research, pupils have been developing their skills in interpreting data, identifying geographical patterns, and making comparisons, showing a real depth of understanding. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm as they make links between climate, land use, and the way people adapt to their surroundings. Well done, Class 2!
We are thrilled to share that, thanks to your generosity, we have received £300 from the ASDA Awards! This funding will go directly towards supporting our school, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who signed up. Your continued support makes a real difference, and we truly appreciate it.
