Class 1 had an absolute blast (quite literally!) in their computing lessons this week. They designed and made their very own rockets and then tested them out on the playground. The excitement and laughter during the launches were contagious, and they did a brilliant job applying their design and programming skills to this project. We’re so proud of their creativity and teamwork! (Apologies for the solitary grainy photo, but we were all having way too much fun to worry about a camera!)
Class 3 returned to a project they started last term and finished making their Viking stew in Forest School this week. Using recipes they researched in Design Technology lessons, they cooked their stew outdoors, just like the Vikings might have done! The experience of preparing and cooking outside added an extra layer of excitement and authenticity to their learning.
Following our recent after-school club survey, a craft club was among the most popular requests. We’re thrilled to announce that Mrs Calvert will be launching Craft Club starting the week after next! Open to pupils in Classes 1, 2, and 3, this exciting club offers a fantastic opportunity for our young artists to unleash their creativity. Keep an eye on Parent Hub early next week for the sign-up form—spaces are likely to go fast!
Wakefield Families Together is inviting children, young people, parents, carers, and professionals to share their views to help create the new Children and Young People’s Plan for 2025-2028. You can take part by completing the survey before the end of January 2025. It’s quick and easy, and your input could help make a real difference to the services and support available to children and families across the district.
To complete the survey, please use the following link:

The current Children and Young People’s Plan is coming to an end, and now is the time to ensure your voice is heard. Feedback from past surveys has led to meaningful improvements in activities, support services, and safer spaces for children and young people across Wakefield. Your views can help continue this progress!
Please take care in the wind and have a lovely weekend.
