Christmas Festivities
As we approach the end of term, it has been a joy to see our pupils embracing the festive season with such enthusiasm…and no small amount of talent! This week, our Key Stage 2 pupils gave stunning performances in their carol concerts on Monday and Tuesday. From soulful solos to confident readings, they filled the Church with festive magic. These concerts marked the last of our Christmas performances, following the fantastic EYFS and KS1 productions over the past few weeks. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making these events so special.
Earlier this week, the pupils were also treated to a festive concert by the Wakefield Music Service. With Christmas tunes aplenty, the children were captivated and inspired, especially our budding instrumentalists. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate music and the joy it brings during the festive season.
Our Christmas Dinner Day was another highlight of the week! Mrs Scott and Mrs Gibson worked tirelessly to prepare a delicious festive feast, complete with crackers, Christmas music, and plenty of cheer. The hall was alive with laughter and smiles as everyone came together to celebrate.
On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor – Santa himself! He took time out of his busy schedule to visit every class from Nursery to Class 3, bringing festive cheer and spreading plenty of smiles along the way. The children were thrilled to share their Christmas wishes, and Santa reminded them all to keep up their good behaviour with just a week to go before his big night!
This afternoon, we gathered in the church for our beautiful Christingle Service, and it was a truly special way to end the week and the term. The pupils sang and read so wonderfully, creating a warm and reflective atmosphere for everyone. A huge thank you to all who joined us, making the occasion even more meaningful. Special thanks go to Fr Christopher for the blessing and for helping us all take a moment to appreciate the true spirit of Christmas. It was a lovely reminder of the importance of community and togetherness during this festive season.
Parking at The Cinnamon Lounge
Following our message regarding the proposed changes to parking restrictions on St. John’s Street, the owner of the Cinnamon Lounge has kindly offered to allow parents to park in their car park both before and after school, to try and help with the situation. An application has also been submitted to add a zebra crossing outside of school. I will, of course, keep you updated with developments in the new year.
Finally, as we break for the holidays, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. Please stay safe, enjoy the time with your loved ones, and have a fantastic New Year. We look forward to seeing everyone again in January for another exciting term.
