Today, the school was filled with the wackiest, wildest and silliest hairdos we’ve ever seen! From neon colours to gravity-defying styles, it’s safe to say that our pupils – and a few brave staff members – really outdid themselves.
We are thrilled to announce that thanks to everyone’s fantastic participation, we’ve raised over £100 for the playground fund!
A huge shout-out to our Horbury Bridge Academy Friends (the PFA) for organising such a fun and colourful event.
Thank you to everyone for your creativity and contributions – Let’s just hope the local hairdressers are ready for a few emergency appointments tonight…
This morning we also welcomed parents and relatives to our EYFS Stay and Play session. It was wonderful to see everyone getting hands-on with their children, exploring all the fantastic provision we have on offer. From creative activities to role play and outdoor fun, it was a great morning of learning through play. A special mention to the parents who seemed to enjoy the play dough and sandpit even more than the pupils! Thank you to all who attended and helped make the event a great one.
Staying with the theme of EYFS, we are holding an open day on Saturday 9th November. If you know anyone who is looking for a Nursery place, please let them know - details in the poster below!
This week, we gathered in the church for our annual Harvest Festival, and what a wonderful celebration it was! Our pupils sang their hearts out and shared the true spirit of the harvest season.
A huge thank you to all the parents who came along to support – your presence made the event even more special.
We’re so proud of our pupils for their brilliant performances and the thoughtful messages they conveyed. It was a fantastic way to come together and celebrate the season of harvest. Thank you once again for being part of it!
Following the recent Wakefield Cross Country Finals, we are thrilled to announce that Olliarnah, Annabelle, Hattie, Pippa, and Reuben have all qualified for the West Yorkshire Finals, which will be held at Nostell Priory next year! This is a fantastic achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
A huge congratulations to these pupils and to everyone who took part in the event. We’re excited to see how our qualifiers perform and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the next stage!
Finally, as we come to the end of our first half term, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for making it such a success. Our pupils have been absolutely fantastic – their progress, enthusiasm, and love for learning have truly shone through. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or during special events, they’ve shown real Kindness, Courage and Community!
To our parents and carers, thank you for your continued support. Your involvement and encouragement make such a difference to everything we do here at Horbury Bridge Academy.
We’ve had a brilliant start to the year, and we're excited for what’s to come as we head into the next half-term. Have a well-deserved break, and we’ll see you back soon!
Take care and stay safe.
