Shipwrecked
Embark on an exciting pirate adventure across the seven seas! Can you and your crew navigate the challenges and discover the legendary Treasure Island? In this action-packed course, students will collaborate with their shipmates to chart a course, solve puzzles, and overcome thrilling tasks. Together, you will develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while uncovering hidden treasures. Adventure awaits—are you ready to set sail?

I Survived…Mother Nature: A STEM Challenge Adventure (4 spots left)
Ever read an I Survived book and wondered if you could truly survive the situation? In this course, students will face challenges that test their problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity as they collaborate with peers to “survive” the forces of Mother Nature. Teams will tackle hands-on projects like cleaning up an oil spill, building a Lego volcano, designing a house to withstand gale-force winds, engineering a snowball catapult, and much more! This course offers a fun, dynamic way to apply STEM skills in real-world scenarios.

Dimension Invention: Exploring 2-D & 3-D Mixed Media Art (1 spot left)
Unleash your creativity in this exciting mixed-media art class, where two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques come together in inspiring ways. Students will explore a wide range of materials and methods, combining drawing and painting with sculpture and collage to create unique, multidimensional artworks. This course encourages imaginative thinking and innovation, empowering young artists to explore depth, texture, and the limitless possibilities of mixed media while pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms.

In this action-packed course, students will dive into a series of hands-on experiments and challenges designed to push the limits of both courage and creativity. From slimy concoctions to mind-bending puzzles, each challenge is crafted to encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience. Prepare to face your fears and build confidence through exciting and interactive challenges that test both your mental and physical stamina.

VEXplorers: Robotics Adventure
If you like building robots and solving problems, then this is the class for you! Join Mr. Scott, HCCTC Engineering Instructor, in learning the basics of building, coding, and navigating a VEX IQ remote-controlled robot. In addition, the sessions will lead up to a final obstacle course for each robot to compete to see who can complete it the fastest and most accurately. This leads to events in the SkillsUSA and TSA Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).
