Stroke of Genius  Open to Grades 2nd & 3rd

Come explore art created by some of the great masters. You will be creating hands-on art in the styles of Monet and Van Gogh. You will create masterpieces using pastels and watercolors, and produce art using everyday household items such as forks and straws. Join us and discover your creativity.  Instructor: Trish Wyatt 

 

Junior Engineers Open to Grades 2nd & 3rd 

Take your engineering skills out on a test run in this exciting STEM class where you will build and create. Students will be challenged to collaborate with others through the design process, problem-solving, and thinking critically to build towers, self-propelling cars, rollercoasters, catapults, and more. From simple machines to STEM experiments, this class has it all!  Instructor: Ashley Brewer & Susan Brown 

 

Mix It Up Open to Grades 4th & 5th

In this class, students will create mixed-media artwork.  Mixed media, in visual art, is when more than one medium is used to create the piece.  So whether you are adding 3D elements with clay to your canvas painting, or using oil pastels with ink and watercolors, this class will guide you to become masters of the use and mixing of art materials. Code Masters Open to Grades 4th & 5th

Welcome, future coding wizards! We will be diving into the exciting world of robotics and programming with two incredible devices- the Sphero Bolt and RVR+. In this class, we are not just going to learn how to code; we are going to bring robots to life! Get ready to embark on a hands-on adventure where lines of code transform into real-world actions. Whether you are a seasoned coder or just getting started, these devices offer endless possibilities for innovation and fun. By the end of the course, you will master tasks from the Sphero Global Challenge. Instructor: Jennifer Edwards 


Monochromatic Portraits  Open to Grades 6-8

Pick your favorite color and learn to make different tones and shades of that color, as you paint a self-portrait.  This course is designed to build students' confidence as they create a fun masterpiece. Students will jump right in and be painting within minutes on this project.  Instructor: Tonia Leal


Introduction to Python and Game Design Using RPG Maker  Open to Grades 6-8

Have you thought about designing video games and/or learning how to code?  If so, this is the class for you!  The first Saturday we will dive into Python and learn some coding skills.  The next session will be exploring game design using the RPG Maker software.  Instructor: Willis Holmes
