Why not connect gaming to learning in the classroom? There are ways to use Fortnite for learning. Steve Isaacs, an education program manager for Epic Games states, “by bringing Fortnite Creative into my classroom, I’ve been able to create an environment that supports co-learning and puts the responsibility for learning in the hands of my students. I value the idea of student choice, and this approach lends itself to encouraging students to find and nurture their passion for learning.”
A teacher from the Fabulous Classroom makes Fortnite activities for learning. The best part is that most of them are free. These outstanding lessons can help students with almost every subject! They have a point-of-view and area perimeter activity. They even have a digital escape room! (This will have a small fee.) These activities are also for grades 2-12! These tools can help make learning more fun for students and make them want to come and learn.
A boatload of people think Fortnite is just a game where you make a 1-by-1 and try to win, but Fortnite requires a lot of strategy and math. Fortnite also uses physics. If someone broke a staircase, then the rest of the building would fall if it doesn't have anything holding it up. Teaching physics and math to kids by using Fortnite could enhance learning a lot by bringing one of the most popular games in the world to hundreds of classrooms. These assignments would engage them more than workbooks!
Connecting gaming to learning can benefit both teachers and students because teachers can send an assignment on Google Classroom to a lot of kids at once. Kids also love digital content! A bonus is that if they don't finish it in class, they can finish it online at home.
Fortnite in the classroom could be the future of learning, and I think it could enhance learning so much that kids would get better scores on their tests. I think people would look forward to Fortnite.
