You are not alone.

We are all doing this for the first time.

All of your efforts are appreciated.

Have a routine that works for your family.

Set expectations for your learners and go over them daily.

Keep the school schedule posted and have a timer or clock, if that helps your learner.

Limit distractions as much as possible.

Have a designated space with good lighting and a space for your child's school materials.

Be a support, but don't give answers.

It's ok if new concepts are hard, let your child struggle, within reason.

Take breaks (outside and away from tech as a family, if possible)

Celebrate small victories.

If your child receives services, sit in on the session with your child.

It's ok to rewatch teacher instructional videos as many times as needed.

It's ok to ask the teacher for help if your child still doesn't understand. They are there to help!

Use Remind to text/email your child's teachers.

Stay in contact with your child's teacher, especially if your child is frustrated over a new concept.

Está bien volver a ver los videos instructivos del maestro tantas veces como sea necesario.

Está bien pedirle ayuda al maestro si su hijo aún no comprende. ¡Están ahí para ayudar!

Utilice Remind para enviar mensajes de texto / correo electrónico a los maestros de su hijo.

Manténgase en contacto con el maestro de su hijo, especialmente si su hijo se siente frustrado por un nuevo concepto.
