1. “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head”
B.J. Thomas, 1969
It’s a song a friend brought up to me from the Spiderman 2 movie in 2004. He said he’s been listening to it and it just makes him happy. The song plays at the part where Spiderman loses his ability and becomes human. He’s currently fighting his withdrawals and has an urge to give in but doesn’t want to give in; he wants to keep fighting it.
2. "Crawling" Linkin Park, 2000
This song to me has so many things going on if you listen to the lyrics they're talking about drugs, anything else related to being under their skin. Being able to feel it and feel the wall closing. I know some people who've felt the same way trying to do better but not being able to because their body isn’t allowing them let alone mind.
3. "Scars to Your Beautiful" Alessia Cara, 2015
This song catches the ears of those who struggle within themselves. Read so many comments of people expressing themself to it. Everyone has insecurities, and everyone has their bad days but they should be reminding themself that they are beautiful within themselves.
4. "Born this Way" Lady Gaga, 2011
This is about embracing who you are. I myself don’t know who I am and I'm sure most people don’t as well, so it's a message through lyrics to empower others.
5. "Writings on the Wall" Sam Smith, 2015
Very mixed emotions to me. Trying to get out of a hole but never achieving it. Always ends up at the place you first started 1 step forward 2 step back, but overall you shouldn't let things hold you down. Everyday is a new day so start fresh!
6. "Young and Beautiful" Lana Del Rey, 2013
To me, this is a song where she’s looking for someone who’s interested in her not from the outside but the inside. Someone to fill the empty void deep inside her.
7. "Summertime Sadness" Lana Del Rey, 2012
Love is a distinctive feeling. It causes you to do absurd things.
8. "Bulletproof Love" Pierce the Veil, 2010
Song reminds me of the news you would see now. Beloved ones dying but leaving notes for someone close to them to find which is really upsetting.
9. "Unforgettable" French Montana (feat. Swae Lee), 2017
When I listen to this song the emotion of joy is flowing through my body. Make new UNFORGETTABLE memories and have fun. You only live once, make it count for the time being.
10. "January 28" J. Cole, 2014 (Parental Advisory- Explicit Content)
“What's the price of a black man's life?”
“Look out the window 'cause tonight the city lit up with lights, cameras, and action.”
These lyrics are how I see life; everything is made to go viral or to be put on the news. I feel as if everyone should be cautious of the world because you may never know.
