I used my $10 dollars to help the nurses in my school. I have a lot of health problems that can’t be cured but can be treated. Ever since I've been in Hopewell High School the nurses have been there every step of the way. But what I didn't know was that most of the stuff they use and give away came out of their pockets. I started by asking “ what are the things you need the most?”
The nurses said they need ziploc bags for the ice, deodorant, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products. So I checked with my mom to see what she had to spare. My mother donated toothpaste and toothbrushes. I felt like I could do more so I looked into other things to do for my school community. I chose to use the money I had left to help with mental health. I used $5 dollars to put a poster up with sticky notes on it outside the counseling office. I did that so that people could write down their feelings, If you feel like you can’t talk to anyone. “Mental health matters”
I feel like we should give back to the people that help our community. And don’t forget mental health is just as important as physical health.
Thank You.
