How can we help people in need? I had $10 to help others and did so by focusing on one person who needed products and connections.
I chose Ms. Jennifer because she is a family friend, and we stay in the same apartment complex. I moved into the building this year, and when my aunt introduced us, we became friends. I overheard how she needed to go shopping for herself and her dog. I thought of buying some self-care items for her and treats for her dog.
You can make someone's day by helping with simple needs. Going to Family Dollar for Ms. Jennifer definitely made my day. What I brought was Suave shampoo and conditioner, African Black Soap, Jergen's enriching lotion, and chew bones for her dog. Her reaction was priceless. She was thankful for what I had done. I earned respect and a good friendship.
I spoke with mutual friends to learn what products she might like. Showing benevolence brings feelings of satisfaction from small actions.
Supplying her needs not only helped her but also improved my well-being. It especially made me feel better because, to tell the truth, I was not feeling okay emotionally. At first, I thought to myself this wasn't adequate to satisfy someone, but I felt calm after helping her out, and using ten dollars is enough when the gifts are from the heart.
