Hello, My name is Phillip Charo, and I am the Pastor of HOPE Fellowship Church. I spent most of my life in and out of churches as a teen, searching for some meaning in my life,  but it wasn't until I heard a local pastor on the radio station in 2004 that God began to tug at my heart.   A few days later, I visited the church where the pastor was from, and it was there where I was introduced to my best friend and Savior, Jesus. From that day forward, my life has never been the same!

I began attending a  Baptist church on the south side of San Antonio and struggled with what God called me to do.

One Sunday morning, I got a call from the "Adult's Class" Sunday school teacher. He let me know that he could not make the class that morning and asked if I could fill in for him.   Even though I was terrified,  I reluctantly accepted his request. I had never taught any class, but I figured, "How hard could it be?". I also learned a crucial tidbit of information that day. I realized I have a terrible fear of speaking in public, and I only had two hours to study the material. I learned the best I could and gave it a shot. That was the best thing I ever did because that ignited in my heart a passion for teaching that could not be contained.

That morning, I taught on 1 Kings 19, where Elijah ran from Jezebel and heard the voice of God, but It wasn't just Elijah that heard from God that morning. This incredible Sunday morning,  I received a prophetic word from an elderly couple attending the class. They approached me after the class and asked if they could pray over me. They told me they saw a strong anointing over me and that God was calling me to become a pastor. From that day on, I have felt the call to preach. My goal in life is to bring the truth of scripture to the lost and equip the church to do His work and know Him more.

Since then, I have served in several positions leading to where I am now. My first post was as a youth pastor at New Hope Baptist Church, where I served while attending seminary. Later, I served as Senior Pastor at Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship in San Antonio, Texas. I had the privilege of ordaining a young man called to set up a mission in the Amazon jungle. I am married to a beautiful, godly woman,  Pricilla B. Charo, who has been instrumental in my spiritual growth. Together, we began "Power N Prayer Ministry" in 2023.   Together, we have started the HOPE (House of Prayer for Everyone) Fellowship to answer the call to preach the word of God to a world in desperate need of truth. We believe that verse-by-verse Bible teaching in an exegetical manner is what this city, this state, and this country need. The world will only improve by falling more in love with Jesus daily!
