You don't like your bookkeeper? SPAIN PARK CAN NOT RELATE!!!!! Carole Roegner is the best of the best. We love the way she always takes the time to answer questions and teach the "why" of a process. She goes above and beyond to help anyone who spends money at this school stay out of trouble, and she always follows up- she does all of this to make sure teachers can focus on what they came here to do which is teach. Her 10 years at Spain Park High School have been the standard of excellence and professionalism.
Ms. Roegner served 12 years in Hoover City Schools as a bookkeeper, and before that she worked for UAB as an administrative assistant in a pediatric surgery department. The Jags are lucky she put away those appointment books for PCard forms!
Ms. Roegner remembers the great advice given to her by former principal Larry Giangrosso to always serve with a servants heart. Ms. Carole has put this to practice in her life by serving the little ones in her church community and being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. And of course by showing everyone with a purchasing card at SPHS patience and grace.
I asked her what her favorite memories are from working at SPHS, and in true Ms. Carole fashion, she said, "All my memories are favorite!" She has a way of always having a smile and always finding a way to see what is positive in a given situation. She says she will miss the staff and the crazy times they have up front- and she will be missed too! Dearly!
Congratulations, Ms. Roegner! We know you'll enjoy every moment with your husband and family during your retirement!
Carole has always been the friend at school who brings the calm and gentleness needed in the front office. She is like a well-loved sister, and I will miss her greatly. -Chris Ann Wingo
Carole has been part of a dynamic duo in the front office that will be truly missed. She is always willing to help navigate any questions regarding school bookkeeping and funds so that faculty and staff can utilize their resources for our students. -Josh Donaldson
I'm actually still in denial over her retiring! I love Carole! She is a joy to work with. She's known as the sweet one in our office!! -Theresa Mareno
Carole has always taken such good care of me and made sure we had everything the nurses needed in the health room. Carole has also been known to say to the nurses, "Y'all ain't right!" She is kind and caring and will be missed enormously.-Becky Laney
It’s hard to put into words just how much you’ve meant to me—not just as a coworker, but as a part of my family. From the moment we started working together, you brought light, laughter, and wisdom into every corner of our lives. My kids don’t just call you “School Nanna” because it’s cute—it’s because you’ve truly been that special, nurturing presence for them. You’ve hugged them, encouraged them, and loved them like your own.
And let’s not forget how much you adore my husband (though I think the feeling is mutual)! You’ve been a friend, a cheerleader, and a constant source of joy for all of us. Your retirement is so well-earned, but it’s bittersweet. While we’re excited for you to finally enjoy some well-deserved relaxation and new adventures, we’ll miss your stories, your smile, and your heartwarming sass around here more than we can say.
Thank you for being such a beautiful part of our lives. You’re not just a coworker—you’re family. We love you. -Amanda Moore
Mrs. Carole is seriously the best. She is so kindhearted and truly operates with a servant’s heart. I am so thankful to have served alongside her the past 10 years at SPHS. She is gracious and understanding with our teachers, students, staff and especially me! She treats my personal children, as she does her own children and grandchildren, and I am thankful for the love she poured into our front office and school over the last decade. -Josh Britnell
Carole, I will miss seeing you every single day! I will miss our chats and "catching up" with you! A special thank you for loving my children and how special you have been to them! You will be missed, my friend! Enjoy retirement and spending precious time with your family!
Love you lots! -Betsy
