At the May 2019 Honor’s Day Celebrations, Dr. Uswatte, Principal of Rocky Ridge Elementary School in Hoover, Alabama, shared with the Rocky Ridge Family her thoughts of how we can overcome negativity and tip the scales towards becoming a more positive society. Her overall message was this:
We need to take the time to inspire and be inspired!
[Definition of inspire: to fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something; to create (a feeling, especially a positive one) in a person; to animate someone with (such a feeling); to give rise to. ]
She asked:
Do we take the time to put down our devices and/or step away from other distractions to notice the people and environment around us?
When we see someone doing something positive, do we take the time to praise him/her or say thank you?
Do we present the best version of ourselves to the world each and every single day?
Do we intentionally set a daily goal to be kind and/or positively impact at least one person?
