Melanie Thomason

Hi!  My name is Melanie Thomason, and I’m thrilled to be the 6th grade counselor at Berry Middle School. It’s an exciting time to be a Berry JAG, and I’m here to support your student as they transition into middle school!

This is my 25th year as a school counselor. I spent the first three years of my career at an elementary school in Tennessee, and for the past 21 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving students at Spain Park High School. I hold a degree from Lipscomb University, earned my M.Ed. from Middle Tennessee State University, and completed my Ed.S. at the University of Alabama.

When I’m not at school, you’ll likely find me reading, binge-watching TV shows, going to the gym, hanging out with my husband and attending our children's football games. I also have a passion for traveling and exploring new places.
