These are digital reading resources currently available to HRCSD schools.
How to place a hold on a library book that will be delivered to your English classroom.
Self-service mobile book carts that can be requested and delivered to your classroom for a couple of days at a time. students can self-select books from the cart, write down their info and the book info on the provided paper and we will process when the cart is picked up. these carts contents can be made by request, or we will have carts with a great curated selection ready for you and students that are sure to please.
Digital Library, aka SORA (student video), audio and ebook services. look for the astronaut app on the iPad. Also available for free download via the app store to your phone. it is like Netflix for books. if you have never tried it, it will change your drive to work.
Staff login differently than students do, staff should select the staff tab, your username and password are the same as your computer log in.

If you already use the free audio and ebook services from the public library or you want to link your public library account. you can link your accounts in the SORA app to search both libraries at once. you need to do this in the settings tab after you log in,
This app provides access to ebooks and audiobooks through the school and county library systems. Requires a free app to use.

Deleting Books from Learning Ally
If it pauses press the percent button to stop and restart the loading process.
Go to the Learning Ally website and delete that book from the bookshelf (see above video).
In the app, click on manage books & delete the book.
Click on update books (the book should completely disappear, if it doesn't go back to step 1).
Close out all iPad apps and reset the iPad (hold the on/off button and home button until the white apple appears).
Log back in to Learning ally and try loading the book again.
Don’t close the iPad while it is downloading.
The Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library providing access to public domain books. The group also has a large digitization project, meaning many of their books are compatible with apps such as Capti or Voice Dream.

This service is available to elementary and middle school students. Teachers must assign a classroom code for students to access. Parents can create free individual accounts until June 30, 2020 at which time Epic! will charge a fee. It requires a free app to use.
