K-5 Math
At Meyer Elementary and Woolls Intermediate, we use the Bluebonnet Math curriculum to give our students a strong foundation in mathematics. This program is a high quality instructional material that focuses on building number sense, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking—helping students truly understand math rather than just memorizing steps.
In the classroom, your child will engage in hands-on activities, collaborative discussions, and real-world problem solving that make math meaningful and fun. At home, you can support your child by encouraging them to explain their thinking, practicing math facts, and celebrating their progress.
If you have questions about Bluebonnet Math or want ideas to support your child’s learning, please reach out to your child’s teacher—we are here to partner with you!

K-5 Reading/Language Arts
Elementary students learn with HMH Into Reading, a comprehensive literacy program that helps children grow as confident, fluent readers and writers. The program combines engaging stories, nonfiction texts, and interactive lessons to build strong reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Into Reading is designed to meet students at their level and provide the support they need to succeed. Parents can help at home by reading with their child daily, asking questions about what they read together, and encouraging them to share their thoughts and ideas.
For additional resources and activities, families can explore HMH’s Into Reading Parent Support tools online or connect with their child’s teacher for guidance.

K-5 Science
Our elementary students use McGraw Hill Science materials to explore the world around them through hands-on learning and discovery. The program is designed to spark curiosity and build a strong foundation in scientific thinking by encouraging students to ask questions, investigate, and make real-world connections.
With engaging lessons, interactive activities, and opportunities for exploration, McGraw Hill Science helps students develop problem-solving skills and a love for learning. Parents can support at home by talking with their child about what they are learning, encouraging them to share their observations, and exploring science in everyday life together.
K-5 Social Studies
Students in grades K–5 learn social studies through Studies Weekly, an interactive, standards-based program that brings history, geography, civics, and culture to life. The program is presented in a kid-friendly newspaper format—both in print and online—that helps students connect classroom learning to the world around them.
Studies Weekly encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and discussion, while making learning engaging and fun. Parents can support at home by reading the weekly articles with their child, asking questions about what they learned, and exploring connections to current events or family history.
Phonemic Awareness for K-2
At Meyer Elementary, our youngest learners build a solid foundation for reading through Heggerty Phonemic Awareness. This research-based program delivers daily, 10–12-minute lessons full of fun and explicit instruction in key phonemic skills—like rhyming, blending, segmenting, and sound manipulation—that help children hear and play with the individual sounds in words.
These lessons are quick yet powerful, designed to develop strong literacy skills through engaging oral and auditory activities that support early reading success in Pre-K through 2nd grade.
How Parents Can Support at Home:
Listen and play with sounds: Ask your child to break words into individual sounds or blend sounds together—just as they do in class.
Practice with purpose: Use everyday words in playful ways; point out rhymes or clap out syllables during car rides or story time.
Ask to see what they're doing: Teachers can share key skills your child is working on each week—great for extending learning at home.

Phonics for (K-3)
In grades K–3, our students build strong reading foundations with Fundations® by Wilson Language. This program provides a structured, systematic approach to phonics, spelling, and handwriting, helping children develop the skills they need to become confident, fluent readers.
Through engaging, multisensory lessons, students learn letter-sound relationships, word structure, and decoding strategies that support success in all areas of literacy. Parents can help at home by encouraging daily reading, practicing sight words, and celebrating their child’s progress.
