Rival Schools Dancing Together

Each year, parents from Homer and Cortland come together to plan one of the favorite dances all year, Cotillion. On November 25, juniors and seniors will go to the SUNY Cortland Corey Union building for this dance.
This is definitely a favorite among students from both Homer and Cortland for many different reasons. It is organized by parents instead of schools so there are less rules, which students love. Since Homer and Cortland are so close, there are many friendships between the schools. This dance gives the students an opportunity to hang out with their friends from the other school.
A senior from Homer high school, Mallory Douglass, said “Cotillion is one of my favorite dances all year that I always look forward to. The parents always do an amazing job and the food and drinks are always so good.”
When asked about last year, Jena Sweeten said “My favorite activity there was the bean bag toss game, and that the drinks were from Coffee Mania.”
Doesn’t matter what school, juniors and seniors from both Cortland and Homer are always excited for Cotillion.
