Chess Club Commotion

Chess Club President and founder, Naris Constantino, welcomes everyone back during ninth period on Tuesdays in Miss Costa’s room.

Constantino is excited to welcome all chess enthusiasts back for Chess Club’s second year. He is excited for the new location and wants to grow the club to be even more popular than its exciting first year. 

Constantino is helped by his right hand man and Vice-President, Mourad Emam, who loves to inspire all to be their best selves.

Constantino preaches that anyone can become good at chess with hard work. A quote he often recites is: “The game of chess is a lake in which a mosquito can bathe and an elephant can drown.” 

Emam chose this Albert Camus quote to say during the club's first meeting: “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
