Shakti is Homer’s newest and most mindful club. The Yoga and meditation group is open to all, even if you’ve never even tried yoga. The purpose of the club is to learn, relax, and have fun. Each week will have a different purpose, whether it is stress relief or body empowerment. We will start out the hour with 35-40 minutes of yoga then move into meditation; we will start out small because it is difficult to focus the mind for long periods of time at first, but as we go we can move into more advanced types of meditation. We will complete our time together with a healthy snack. The health benefits of yoga and meditation are incredible both for the mind and body. Shakti will meet every Tuesday after ninth period from 3-4 in the wooden side of the fitness center. Mats will be provided, but you can also bring your own.
