You can never have enough Halloween costume ideas! Maybe you can dress up as one of these next year! Without further ado, here are some last minute Halloween costume ideas to save you in your costume emergencies:
Are you in a hurry? Just throw on a red and white striped sweater or shirt, a red beanie, and some glasses. Who are you? You are Waldo.
Take an old, plain T shirt and write “LIFE” on it with a marker. Then show up to the party carrying a bag of lemons. You guessed it: you are “When Life Gives You Lemons.”
Are you unbelievably crunched for time? Then just put on a purple long sleeve shirt and make some faces and hand symbols as you walk out the door. You are the iconic Emoji Girl. This costume is an option for guys too; you just might need to add a wig to the getup.
Going off of the previous costume, you can cut out a large yellow circle from some poster board and put your favorite emoji face on it. Then, attach a string to it, and hang it around your neck. Everyone will know what you are.
If you really want to slack off, then you can make up for lost time by cutting out some big circles from white paper and then drawing eyes on them. Then hold them up in front of your face and you have yourself a stunning pair of googly eyes. Who cares about being able to see where you’re going, am I right?
If, by chance, you have an iconic Sia wig in your closet (or maybe your Emoji Girl wig happens to be black and white), then you can break it out, put on a dress or a pantsuit, some red lipstick, and you’re on your way. Yes, this costume is more meant for girls, but hey, guys can make it work too.
Do you have a yellow sweater or shirt? Well, put it on, make some ears out of paper or felt, and wear some glasses (or draw them on if you’re desperate). Who are you? You’re Arthur! Now that’s a throwback! It’s too bad that Halloween isn’t on Thursday this year. I guess Throwback Tuesday is close enough.
If you are more on the artsy side, then you can draw some square grids on a white T-shirt with a Sharpie, fill in some of the squares, and make words out of others. After just a few minutes, you are a crossword puzzle!
This costume is for the Mean Girls fans out there. Simply don a plain blue hoodie and some standard black sunglasses. Then, hold a handwritten sign that says “She Doesn’t Even Go Here.” After all, we can all benefit from a little more Damian in our lives.
If you are looking for versatility and options, then this costume is the one for you. You can basically wear any outfit and then just add a fanny pack. Voila: You are an instant tourist!
Lastly, while I have given this option in past years, I want to mention it again for those in dire, urgent need of a costume. If all else fails, then just cut some holes in a sheet and drape it over yourself. I don’t even have to say what this costume is because it is just that basic. Think of this option as an absolute last resort.
Happy Halloween and happy costume wearing!
