When at the ferryman’s river my coins I will spend,
The reaper sentencing me to fare, fester, or fade;
This odyssey is all but at an end.
While to the edge of despair your mind, my dear, may bend,
Know that I, in this last endeavor, have with my fears allayed;
When at the ferryman’s river my coins I will spend.
When with the jackal-headed fiend or the Great Queen I descend,
Resting in my velvet bed, as they pour my blanket down in a cascade.
This odyssey is all but at an end.
When at last I reach the shore, where with my fate I do contend;
Know that I, waiting by the gates, will one day lead you into the glade.
When at the ferryman’s river my coins I will spend.
Be it Annwn or Hel, my love for you will never expend.
Though the devil in the flesh I may see, I will stay unafraid.
This odyssey is all but at an end.
However far away I may be, do not dare to your grief tend.
For even with Hades himself, time cannot be outplayed.
When at the ferryman’s river my coins I will spend,
This odyssey is all but at an end.
