Welcome to Technology Class! Using an ever-expanding curriculum we look at:
the different ways we store and use information,
the ways in which we move ourselves around,
how we interact with data and the world around us,
how these ways helps us communicate and interact with each other,
and a lot of other topics around exploring how we learn and do things.
Over the course of the year we will mix time with the desktops, Chromebooks, iPads, things we build, and robots we program to explore various technologies and learn about their impact on our lives--some in our daily experience, and some which are just coming over the horizon.
The students in grades 4-8 created "Thank You" cards with Thanksgiving or Fall themes to be sent out to those who donate a portion of their taxes to the school through the Pennsylvania EITC program.
The cards were designed on the Canva website, and you may click on the names of the winners to see the cards they designed. The grade winners were:
4th Grade--Thomas Dezolt
5th Grade--Liliana Ramagli
6th Grade--Ella Panaia
7th Grade--Eden Grant Malcolm
8th Grade--Kali Dezolt
The overall winner, and designer of the card which was sent, is Declan King from 6th grade. His card is below.
Through building programs, we learn to think logically and solve problems step-by-step. Later, we start to look at programming languages, syntax, and the need to be precise in what we do.
Almost all jobs today require at least some time at a keyboard. We learn typing to build accuracy and speed, and to prepare for the years ahead in school and work.
Chess is a great game and a good way to spend time with friends. It also helps encourage patience, measuring risk, and thinking ahead.
