Hello!

Please see below for the areas of focus in each subject for this month! This is a busy last full month of school! We will have many whole school activities and celebrations as well as fun classroom events! We will kick off the month with our school's talent show at Conwell Egan High School where many of our students will display their special talents and hobbies! We will also have our school's largest fundraiser, the Race for Education on May 8th, this day is jam packed with many fun baseball themed activities and events. Thank you for all the donations! May is the month of Mary and second grade has a special part at our May Procession to honor each of their Mothers. Within in our classroom we have been watching the transformation from caterpillars to butterflies and will be releasing them this month! The students are continuing to work extremely hard in all subject areas and prepare for final exams in the beginning of June! 

Academic Focus for the month in each subject area:

Math: 3 digit addition/ 3 digit subtraction & Probability 

Grammar: Word Study; Synonyms, Antonyms, Context Clues, Prefixes, Suffixes, Root words, Homophones

Science: Birds/Insects & Butterflies 

Writing:  Animal Research Reports 

Reading/Phonics:  endings on words to change tense/ comprehension focus questions 

Social Studies:  Map Skills 

   Religion: Liturgy of the Word/ Mary
