Religion 8th Grade Church History

Supplies For Religion classes 2020/2021 academic year: Students will need a notebook, folder, pen or pencil and eraser, colored pencils or crayons and per school policy two masks that fit.

Course Overview

In 8th grade Religion the focus is on Church History. We will continue to build on what was learned in grades 6 and 7 by exploring the founding of the Church by Jesus Christ and how he passed on his mission to the Apostles. We will study how the Catholic Church developed in Apostolic times and continued to grow through the early and late middle ages and into the modern age. We will focus on major events such as the missionary and evangelization efforts of the Church, the great schism between eastern and western Christianity, the Protestant Reformation and the Church in the modern world.
