Course Overview
In 6th Grade Religion our focus is on the Hebrew Scriptures of the Old Testament to explore the Jewish roots and foundation of our Christian faith. We will study the prehistory stories in Genesis of Creation, the Great Flood, and the Tower of Babel. We will learn how Israel's Patriarch's of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph founded Israel as a people. We will study Moses and the Exodus from Egypt and the founding of the Kingdom of Israel in the promised land. We will see how faith developed during the exile in Babylon and how the prophets told of God's promise to send a Messiah to deliver the people and how these prophesies were fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.
